The 2013 CYTED-HAROSA International Workshop on Simulation-Optimization in Logistics & Production was held in UOC-Tibidabo on November 21st and 22nd, 2013. This event was organized by the ICSO-HAROSA programme of the IN3 and was supported by the Iberoamerican Programme for Science and Technology Development (CYTED).
This workshop was the meeting point for researchers and professors of the CYTED HAROSA@IB Network. A total of 53 members from 16 different countries in Iberoamerica and Europe got together in order to share their research advancements in the fields of Green (Sustainable) Logistics, Transportation, and Production throughout the combined use of emergent multi-disciplinary methodologies such as Simulation-Optimization, Simheuristics, and Internet Computing. As a result of this meeting, several collaboration proposals were fixed, including the submission of a joint project proposal for the Spanish R&D National Plan (with international support), and the agreement to collaborate in two new calls for projects in the context of the Horizon 2020 framework. The topics of these project proposals were strongly related to Environmental-friendly Logistics & Transportation, Smart Logistics, Transportation, and Production, Internet-based Computing, Metaheuristic and Simheuristic algorithms, Business Analytics, Hybrid Methods, etc. Another collaboration agreements were related to the co-advisement of PhD theses by members of different countries inside the CYTED-HAROSA@IB international network.
